The Health Benefits Of Cinnamon For Hair & Skin

Updated: Dec 28, 2020

With winter on the horizon (although you wouldn’t necessarily know it at the moment, given how warm the weather has been over the last few days), now’s the time to start thinking about how you’re going to keep your hair and skin healthy and well cared for, no matter what the elements choose to throw at us over the next few months.

The wind, rain and snow can all be very damaging, drying out our skin, hair and nails, making it more prone to breakouts and breakages, so it’s important to find ways to help prevent this if you can… and, perhaps surprisingly to some, cinnamon can prove incredibly beneficial when it comes to hair and skin care.

Cinnamon is actually a very common ingredient in face masks and other such products to help fight acne, serving as an antimicrobial, so perhaps start introducing this into your beauty regime if you can.

And if your hair starts to feel a little thin or looking a little flat over winter, why not try finding a hair mask with cinnamon in it, as it can really help with scalp health, stimulating hair growth.

You could even try mixing some in with some olive oil and giving your head a good massage as a bit of a treat one night. Don’t worry if you feel a bit of a tingling sensation - that’s completely normal.

Cinnamon can also work wonders for your overall health, as well, helping to control your cholesterol levels, treating colds and easing any indigestion you may have… which is likely over the festive season, with all that delicious food on offer at Christmas time!
