Are you looking for ways to be more sustainable, but feel like you don't have time? We were in the same boat. In fact, we used to think that being sustainable had to involve a lot of time and effort. But it doesn't! There are lots of small things we can do every day to make a big difference. Here are some of our favourite tips for living sustainably on a busy schedule.
Be realistic - do you really have the time, energy and money to make big changes in your life? No point committing to shopping in zero waste stores if the nearest one is far away and you already have to commute long distance for work. You would give up quite soon. But how difficult it will be for you to swap your paper kitchen towel for reusable cloths? Or swap shower gel for a soap?
Reuse. Reusing items is a great way to save money and the environment and does not require much time or effort. You can reuse yogurt pots for freezing fruits, vegetables and food leftovers while old cotton t-shirts will make perfect cleaning cloths (and they're super soft!).
Cleaning is a part of life. We all do it at some point or another, but what if you could make your home cleaner without having to sacrifice health and environment? There are cleaners that will not only brighten up the place in minutes, they're also safe for humans AND pets too!
Brush like a panda… with a bamboo. With a bamboo toothbrush actually. You can also try using biodegradable floss, dental toothpaste tables or toothpaste packaged in glass instead of plastic tube.
Sustainable living can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Start small by making simple changes that require no additional effort on your part. Once you get into the swing of things, you can start making bigger swaps that will have a larger impact on the environment.
